Home health care is the important part of the aging in living or the place in your home environment all the life. Medication compliance and safety is first concern with home health care and aging loved one. Aging individuals forget things faster, so non – compliance is the major concern.
It is important to take care of your loved ones over the counter medications, like allergy medicine or sleeping aids may be dangerous. It is also important to advice aging loved ones to call the pharmacist or the doctor if they missed couple of medication.
Always speak to your doctor prior to make any change in the medication routine. If there are more than 1 caregiver dispensing medications for your loved one, it is important to provide a chart that has the name of the medication, time of day that it is to be taken and any special instructions.
