One of the most common health conditions facing people today is being overweight. This condition is a serious hazard as sufferers are exposed to cardiac arrests and other diseases. Of the many dietary programs designed to fight this condition is the Medifast Diet Program.
The program is based on the premise that eating regularly but in small amounts will fight the urge of eating foods not planned for because it keeps you from feeling hungry. The nutrition recommended by the program is high levels of proteins and less carbohydrates so that the body can be able to use its own stock of energy. This is state is known as ketosis.
The program recommends six meals in a day, 5 minor and 1 major known as the 5 and 1 plan, which is one of the phases of the program the others being transition and maintenance until you reach the desired weight.
