How to Eat a Low GI Diet
Filed Under Diet Management, Eating habits, Health & Fitness
The GI diet is one of the most advised weight loss diet by dieticians. It is based on an index known as the Glycemic Index, where carbohydrates are measured on a scale of 1 to 100. The higher the G.I. number in a food sample the better for your body because such a food is easily broken down and absorbed into the body. A G.I. of 60 and above is considered ideal.
The dieticians’ advice is therefore to make sure that in every meal there is a sizeable portion of such kinds of food. The diet’s premise is regular intake of food; diversify foods which must be high quality, less sugars, fats and sweets, lots of water and less of alcoholic drinks and caffeine, and foods high with fiber.
Such a diet works on the gastrointestinal system and ensures that unnecessary fatty wastes are not deposited in the colon.
