Diet for high cholesterol

Often we come across the fact that high cholesterol is bad for health in case of heart patients but the thing which we need to know is as to what is high cholesterol. Cholesterol is a waxy substance secreted by the liver and is responsible for good health and for proper functioning of each and every cell of our body. It is also responsible for food components like fats etc.
As mentioned above that cholesterol is secreted by our body but some food items are rich sources of cholesterol and if we intake them in large amounts then the condition of high cholesterol arises and there is a risk of various diseases like heart strokes etc. the food components responsible for high cholesterol levels in our body are:
- Animal fats: this includes meat and beef and they are responsible for increasing the levels of cholesterol in the blood
- Saturated fats: various oils and other saturated fats if consumed in large quantities can lead to high levels of cholesterol
- Fruits and vegetables do not contain cholesterol at all.
