What you eat during your pregnancy will affect the health your health and that of your unborn baby. There are some supplements that are very helpful to pregnant women and there are others which you should avoid.

Some of the supplements that are helpful during pregnancy include folic acid, calcium, iron and vitamin D supplements. Folic acid supplements are very important as they prevent birth defects. Vitamin D helps in the formation of bones for you and your baby. Iron supplements are important for the production of red blood cells. Calcium supplements are important for the development of the baby’s skeletal system.

Some of the supplements that you should avoid include Vitamin A supplements. Cod liver supplements contain high levels of Vitamin A and should be avoided. Supplements from fish such as swordfish, shark and shellfish are not the best to take while pregnant. Listeria-rich supplements are also not recommended for pregnant women.

Well for that you should we aware of the fact that the proteins are not required by the body in large quantities. Even small amounts of protein in our daily diet are sufficient to meet the body needs.

There are a number of things that you need to know about your post workout diet? The first meal you take after a fitness exercise is very important if you are the kind of person who is keen on fitness and a lifestyle that is healthy. Apart from water, the other important thing is making sure that your post workout diet contains enough proteins and carbohydrates. Keep away from fat and fatty foods.

The best type of protein to have as part of your diet is the mixed shake of whey protein powder. This is because it takes far less time to digest than the protein coming from other sources. Carbohydrates are equally important as part of a post workout meal. This group of foods helps the body system to restore muscle glycogen. Carbohydrates also help in the quick and efficient absorption of nutrients by the body.

Casein proteins are the main proteins that area found in milk. It is found in its natural, raw unused form. Casein proteins occur in three forms. One is calcium caseinate is a common food ingredient and is the lowest quality of the casein proteins. Micellar casein and milk casein isolate are somewhat similar. The only difference is that micellar casein is purely casein while milk protein isolate has micelor casein together with whey.
Casein proteins are crucial in muscle recovery and strength. It is specially recommended to be taken after an intense exercise and weight training. This is possible because it enters the blood stream very slowly and in the process inhibiting protein synthesis and breakdown. Casein proteins should be taken in 2 – 3 servings per day, mostly at night since this is the period which the body stays longest without a protein source.

It therefore calls for a careful lifestyle and a meticulous choice of what she takes as food. An ideal diet will be well-balanced and very low on high cholesterol components like solid fats and sugars.

The baby in the womb solely depends on what the mother eats, and therefore lots of minerals and vitamins are needed for both the mother and the baby. These can be found in special foods like fortified grains and vegetables and special meats.

It is advisable to take lots of fruits and juices and minimize the intake of drinks like coffee or soft drinks. This is because too much caffeine might affect the health of both mother and baby and can lead to serious complications. Regular exercise should also complement the nutrition.
