All of it will go in vain though, if internally you are weak. Taking care of your bones is a major concern. They form your basic framework, anything and everything that you can do, requires you to use your bones, and hence they suffer major wear and tear, so you must keep them strong.

The main mantra is to give your body its calcium, phosphorus and vitamin D dosage. Osteoporosis can be kept at bay if you aren’t deficient in calcium. Add to that loads of green vegetables, fruits, water and daily exercise. Take care not to stress your bones too much, and go for joint or body massages once in a while. Your bones will be as strong as ever, and you can live a healthy, happy life.

But is it that healthy after all? Running has often been linked to bone problems but most of them are preventable if you have proper knowledge on them. One of the most common mistakes that you might make while running is doing too much at a time. Take it slow. If you are not accustomed to long stretches, make sure you start with small distances. The right kind of shoes is also very essential, if you want to avoid injuries.

Although research has proved that long distance runners are more prone to osteoarthritis, but if you run a couple of blocks to stay fit, there is no reason to fret. Further, it has been proved by the American Running and Fitness Organization that running actually enhances your bone density, hence making them more adaptable to running. Thus run and run safe.

This is the most common bone tumor that affects the dogs. It usually strikes the leg bones of the larger dog breeds. Canine osteosarcoma usually occurs in the elderly or middle aged dogs but in some isolated cases it can occur in a dog of any age with the larger dog breed developing tumors while still young.

Osteosarcoma can affect any bone of the dog but in most cases, the limb is the one that is largely affected accounting for 75%-85% of the affected area. When osteosarcoma affects the limbs, it is referred to as “appedicular osteosarcoma”. This kind of disease develops inside the bone and it becomes more painful as it develops outwards and it entirely destroys the bone from the inside. One of the ways to know that your dog has Canine osteosarcoma is through a radiograph this is done through X-rays. Another way is through biopsy.
