The decision on the right size and shape of the implant is made by both the doctor and his patient. During the operation, the surgeon places the implants on the woman’s chest. This process takes about one to two hours. After the surgery, the patient is required to remain in the hospital for a day or two. Some of the side effects of breast augmentation are soreness, numbness or oversensitivity. The patient should not be involved in any heavy lifting during the first two weeks after surgery. Recovery from this procedure takes four to six weeks.
